This bathroom might be my favorite design in our house! It was so fun to design and the least complicated out of every other room in the house.
Let’s talk design!
I would say the tile on the floor is the best part. Anyone that walks inside this bathroom can’t help but comment on the bathroom floor. I wanted to put a ton of thought into this design because it’s the bathroom that most everyone sees. I saw this post by Emily Henderson (she is a favorite so you might see a lot of inspiration from her!) and as soon as I saw the floor in person I was SOLD! We went with bigger tile in the shower to offset the small design on the floor. Love the way the shower niche came out with the contrast of the small herringbone against the large subway tile.
I was pretty convinced on doing brass hardware in bathroom. I just LOVE this trend right now and had to implement it in this bathroom! Brass can be hard to match if you are purchasing from different companies. So keep that in mind if you love this trend as much as I do.
We got the vanity from Home Depot and were able to use some remnants of our kitchen quartz for the counter top, which I love.
We kept the tub (not literally) instead of converting it into a shower because we have young children and for the next few years’ bathtubs are just going to be more practical. We have 2 tubs in our house that we actually purchased from AllModern. This bathroom we decided to make the tub a drop-in and tile it. I looks so clean and finished. In our 2nd bathroom we installed an alcove tub due to cost but I like this look more.
This bathroom hasn’t been too difficult to clean because we mostly just use it as a guest bath. I love the dark navy in this bathroom but seriously thought about installing some fun wallpaper. This is something my girl EmHen (my nickname for her… I pretend like we are friends even though I’ve never met her) does really well.
I love how she implements fun wallpapers in children’s spaces! It gives the space such a fun whimsical feel! Since this is technically “my sons” bathroom, I REALLY thought about adding some fun wallpaper but in the last moments decided to just paint it navy instead to buy me some time.
It’s technically a guest bathroom also so I didn’t want it to feel too much like a kids bathroom. I might still add it down the road but for now I am happy with how it turned out!
